i am trying to find any details at all of a thomas pritchard. a direct ancestor george pritchard was born 1814 in chirk as was his brother thomas born 1808 in chirk.also older brother thomas born and died 1805. parents given as thomas pritchard and ann. the only marriage that fits is a marriage in oswestry in 1804. so my guess is they must have been born in the 1780s. i have all the census records of george from 1841onwards, any help would be much appreciated.thank you.brian.

Hello Brian

There was a Thomas Prichard baptised at St Oswalds, Oswestry on 13 Jan 1782, the son of Thomas and Mary.  Also a Thomas Prichard bap in Whittington in 1786 and Kinnerley in 1779. Source: Find my Past.

Good luck searching

Hello Brian

Don't get hung up on the spelling of the surname PRI(T)CHARD.  Your ancestor probably didn't know how to spell his own surname so its spelling as written down was at the whim of the writer, probably the local vicar.  You need to search for all possible spellings.
