Private Frederick JARVIS 18410 6th Btn KSLI died 26th June 1916, in the Battle of Mount Sorrel, he is buried at Lijssenthoek Military Cemetery just 6 miles from Ypres.
Fred is one of two brothers who were killed in Action, they were from Bayston Hill and are both commemorated on the Bayston Hill memorial hall as well as on a bronze plaque in the church in Glebe Road. His elder brother William was a regular soldier 2nd Btn KSLI, injured, sent to Wrexham, died four days later, had full military funeral and is buried in a private grave in the old Shrewsbury Cemetery.
