Colleagues of our last Chairman, Andrew Bennett are going to great lengths in his memory. A team is 'virtually' travelling across the globe to remember their and our much missed friend and colleague.
Members of Shropshire Council's ICT department have completed 25,000 km of their around the world trip to raise money for Cancer Research UK in memory of Andrew.
The challenge #km4cancer has seen the team covering the distance by foot, bike, rowing boat, exercise bike or anything that requires physical effort . They set out on their 53 day attempt on July 1 and have been racking up the kilometres.
The head of the council technology team said "We wanted to do something for charity after losing our friend and colleague Andrew Bennett to cancer".
