Subject - "500 Years of History in Wood – the Tilley Timber Project” 
Speaker - Dr George Nash
Venue - The Old Chapel Community Centre, Cross Houses, Nr Shrewsbury SY5 6JH

Dr Nash describes the history of the hamlet of Tilley using estate documents and maps dating back from the 16th Century up to the present day. The Project looked at the age of the houses, most of which are listed buildings put up in the traditional half-timbered style of North Shropshire.

Col Thorneycroft’s 7x greatgrandfather was reputedly the best soldier thrown up by the Civil War in Shropshire and his exploits during this frenetic period are illustrated by personal documents from the family.
