i v been searching through parish records and came across a couple marrying and coming from powderbatch, where would that be or have been. also i came across a few couples having clandestine marriages in buttington [buffington], what would these have been.

Hi Stephanie, Someone on RootsChat.com States that (note spelling) Powderbach is a parish in Herefordshire. Another thinks it's a misspelling of (Church) Pulverbatch/Pulverbach.

I can't answer your specific question about Powderbatch but there is a road called Powder Lane off Haygate Road in Wellington, now part of Telford. I just wonder if there is some connection.
There is a place called Buttington near Welshpool in Wales. It is on the A458 road. Difficult to know whether this is the one you are looking for.
